» ELO has attended as Observer EDFI 2006 Annual General Meeting


ELO through its Executive President has attended as Observer the EDFI Annual General Meeting held in the Hague on May 10th and 11th. All EDFFI’ s CEO were present as well as the EIB Vice-President responsable for the Bank´s relations with the ACP countries and its Director for the Mediterranean region.

Once set up, the Portuguese EDFI, SOFID, is expected to join the association soon.

The consolidated portfolio of the fifteen members at the end 2006 was 12.3 billion euros in 3.385 projects, an increase of 1.4 billion euros and 386 projects compared with 2005. CDC [United Kingdoom] and SIFEM [Switzerland] had the highest percentages of growth with 35 % over the 2005 figure, followed by SIMEST [Italy] with 24 %. In terms of value, CDC had the highest increase in portfolio with 725 millions euros followed by FMO [Holland] with 351 millions and DEG [Germany] 300 millions.
