» ELO has organized a Workshop on SADC Corridors

ELO has co-organized with ESIPP – EU SADC Investment Promotion Programme a workshop on SADC Corridors. The event took place in Lisbon on the 25th October, co-sponsored by Banco Espírito Santo and AICEP Global Parques.

The speakers at the workshop were representatives of the Executive Secretary of SADC, of Angola [Empresa Portuária do Lobito and Caminhos de Ferro de Benguela], of South Africa [Maputo Corridor Logistics Initiative], of Malawi [Central East African Railway], of Mozambique [Maputo Corridor, Corredor do Desenvolvimento do Norte and Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique], of Namibia [Walvis Bay, Trans-Kalahari, Trans-Caprivi, Trans-Cunene and Trans-Orange Corridors] and of Tanzania [Mtwara and Tanga Corridors].

Mr. Remmy Makumbe, Director of Infrastructure and Services at the SADC Secretariat in Gaborone and Mr. Fernando Matos Rosa, Secretary General of EBCAM - European Business Council for Africa and the Mediterranean also attended the seminar.

From the Portuguese side we had the presence of Dr. Basílio Horta, President of AICEP Portugal Global, Prof. Ernâni Lopes, President of SAER, Dra. Lídia Sequeira, President of the Port of Sines, Dr. Francisco Sá, President of AICEP Global Parques and Eng. João de Lemos from the Logistic Platforms Office.

On the 26th the foreign participants have visited the Port of Sines, where they were welcome by the Port´s President and one Director of AICEP Global Parques.
