» Dansk Industri [Denmark] Assumes EBCAM’S Presidency


EBCAM’s Executive Committee (“Troika”) and General Assembly meetings took place in Copenhagen on June 30th and July 1st.

ELO’s Executive President has participated in the mentioned meeting.

DANSK INDUSTRI (DENMARK) took overthe presidency from NABC (Holland), which will remain in the “Troika” until June 30, 2009 together to the new incoming HACCD (Greece).

Amongst other issues were discussed the following, (a) improvement of the working relations between EBCAM members and its visibility, (b) guidelines and rules for trade missions to and from Africa organized by member with EBCAM sponsoring, (c) visits to DGDEV, DGTRADE, EuropeAid and ACP Secretary General, (d) participations of EBCAM in EuropeAid call for tenders, (e) presentation of EBCAM requests to the programmes BizClim, PROINVEST and trade.com.

During the dinner on June 30th, Mr. Niels Egerup Head of Finance and Business Cooperation of DANIDA/Ministry of foreign Affairs of Denmark Spoke about the Danish development aid and development policy with a focus on Africa and private sector activities.

Two new Countries have joined EBCAM:

- Hungary through AHEAD GLOBAL – African/Asian Hungarian Economic Association for Development
- and Switzerland through SWISSCHAM- AFRICA.
