» ELO at EBCAM’s General Assembly and Board
of Directors meetings

Represented by it’s Executive President, ELO was present at EBCAM’s General Assembly and at the Board of Directors meetings held in Brussels on the 23rd and 24th March.

After the aproval of the year (2008) accounts and presentation of auditors report, the confirmation of the 2009 Membership fees and the confirmation of the 2009 budget, the following itens were discussed:

-2008 activities report
-EU/Africa Business Forum. EBCAM’s participation in the works
-joint EBCAM initiatives. Evaluation of the current Members involvement. Proposals for other initiatives
-5th Board Meeting in Athens 25th and 26th June 2009. Presentation of the Programme
-EBCAM involvement in Mediterranean initiatives by the Eurooean Commission European Neighbourhood Policy
-Implementation of the EPAs – Economic Partnership Agreements Regional involvement of EBCAM
-Follow up of our agreement withthe US-Corporate Council on Africa
-Presentation of current initiatives and papers, by the Members:
-Collaboration with other partners, by Dansk Industri (Denmark)
-Letter to G20, by Dansk Industri
-New Business Network “Africa Business Contact” (www.africa-contact.com), by Afrika-Verein
-Tour d’Horizon on Africa by Membres.

A Working lunch took place at the Hotel Hilton. Guests speakers were Mr. Marcus Cornaro, Director for Southern Mediterranean, Middle-East and Neighbourhood Policy at EuropeAid, and Mr. Damien Levie from the Cabinet of Comissioner Louis Michel.
