» ELO at EBCAM board of Directors meeting

Represented by it’s Executive President, ELO was present at EBCAM’s strategic Seminar and at the Board of Directors meeting held in Brussels on the 22th and 23rd October respectively.
After the “tour d’horizon” on Africa by all the members, the following itens were discussed:

- implementation of 10th EDF and Private Sector. New college of Commissioners and possible reorganisation of the Development and External Ralations Areas.
- EBCAM position regarding private sector support in Africa in the light of the 10th EDF and future reorganisation. Possible letter to the President of the Commission and the Commissioner for Development.
- Report on the EU–Africa Business Forum and on the US-Africa Business Summit. Election of the EU Co-Chair of the Forum.
- Joint Mission to the World Bank Group (multi sectoral and panafrican).
- Approval of conclusions of the previous day strategic seminar.
- Joint iniciatives by EBCAM Members. Situation and possibilities.
- Next year operational arrangements.
- Upgrading computer equipment at the headquarters.
- EBCAM’s Website and brochure.
- Finacial status
- Discussion and approval of the 2010 budget.
- Approval of next meetings Schedule: Brussels, 29 and 30 March 2010; Budapest: 1 and 2 July 2010
A Working lunch took place at the new EBCAM head Office. Guests speakers were Dr. José Manuel Briosa e Gala, Personal Representative for Africa of the European Commission’s President and Mrs. Imoni Akpofure IFC’s Special Representative, Europe.
